A marine accident investigator certified with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). He also has over 20 years of experience in the litigation and claims industries and more than 10 years’ experience in commercial construction operations and management. he leads RTI’s visual aid consulting Imaging Sciences Group, the Unmanned Aircraft (drone), and Evidence Inspection Programs. When in the field, he takes the lead on marine accident investigations, scene documentation and preservation as well as mechanical roof damage inspections. He is also an experienced interactive design and graphic communications professional, specializing in visualizing complex matters for litigation and settlement.
This experts background knowledge for marine accident investigations stems from over 30 years of experience on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay; working on hulls, repairing damages to boats, upgrading electrical equipment, maintaining fleets, engine maintenance and repairs and sailing a wide variety of both power and sailing vessels. As a member of The American Boat & Yachting Council (ABYC), he has detailed knowledge and support of the boat building standards required by the industry. Over the past decade, He has volunteered and held positions on race committees, marina committees, and regatta safety teams, while focusing on the safety of the competitors on the water and while at marina docks and hoist operations.
In 2010, he organized the Unmanned Aircraft Program to support field investigators preserve the scenes of accidents and provide new perspectives for inspecting tall and large objects. As the rules and regulations were being developed, he provided input from the viewpoint of first responders and investigators who use UASs. This led to the development of RTI’s UAS Laboratory Risk Mitigation Testing to help support the Part 107 Waiver application process.
This expert held the position of Site supervisor and architecture designer during construction on commercial property’s ranging up to 50,000 square feet in size since 2009. He also has more that 10 years of commercial building maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
In 2003 he founded the Imaging Science Group, with a focus on video and imaging forensic analysis, animated accident reenactments, and illustrations for patent infringements. The Imaging Science Group has supported high profile cases in many industries including aviation, maritime and power & gas utilities.
