Over twenty years of experience in Aircraft Accident Investigation with both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Has been involved in multiple investigations, such as: (1) South African Airways B-747 in the Indian Ocean, (2) an Indian Airlines B-737 near Ahmadabad, India, (3) an Alitalia Airlines DC-9 in Zurich, Switzerland, (4) a COPA Airlines B-737 in Panama, (5) an American Airlines B-757 in Cali, Colombia, (6) a United Airlines DC-10 in Sioux City, Iowa, and (7) a USAir/SkyWest ground collision in Los Angeles.

Represented FAA at the ICAO Accident Investigation Group meeting in Montreal, 1999; participated in meetings to discuss the development of the ICAO Safety Oversight Audit Program, Montreal, 1998; conducted annual briefings of ALPA pilots on the Government agencies’ roles in accident investigation.

Served as spokesman at NTSB Public Hearings, including the American Airlines A-300 accident in New York, the USAir B-737 accident near Pittsburgh, the ValuJet DC-9 accident near Miami, and the Korean Airlines B-747 accident in Guam; presented papers at ICAO Accident Investigation and Prevention Seminars in Moscow, Cairo, Johannesburg, and Panama City, and has presented papers at ICAO Accident Investigation and Prevention Seminars in Moscow, Cairo, Johannesburg, and Panama City.

In addition, he has served many years with Continental Airlines, Inc. where he was both pilot and flight engineer on B-707, B-720 and DC-10, as well as serving as combat crew pilot on KC-97, KC-135 and EC-135 aircraft while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
